As many of you may know, the secret to those successful six pack abs. Isn't purely down to exercise it's down to your diet as well. Six pack Abs take a lot of hard work. Especially if you want to achieve the beach ready abs. So you have read this far, you must be serious. ab exercises alone will help. but the secret to it is in a healthy diet. First of all lets see how you stand against the recommended BMI (Body Mass Index). First of all you can work this out, or sometimes weighing scales will tell you also. To work it out take your weight in kilograms and divide it by your height in meters and then divide the result by your height in meters again. see how you fair up below:-
o.k. so we know where British BMI guidelines leave us. So this determines the approach we take. Underweight You need to be consuming approx 3000 - 3500 calories a day to compensate for the calories being lost through exercise. I would also advise increasing your protein intake to a minimum 140+ grams if you are trying to gain weight this can be done through protein shakes available from muscle advance or you can drink weight gain shakes from muscle advance. I strongly suggest these as they are full of what the body needs, make sure you read directions of use and follow them correctly. Healthy Weight You have good starting ground, I would personally recomend continue the daily intake of calories that you are at current but make sure its coming from the correct foods and nutritional supplements, again Increase your protein intake you can do this by eating foods like tuna, Cottage cheese etc. This will help you achieve those chiseled abs with the correct exercise routine. Some of which can be found on the Video's page. Overweight I often hear , over weight people saying it's much easier to gain weight rather then lose weight, I recently heard at the gym "gaining weight is like building a house, losing weight is like knocking it down". In this situation I recommend plenty of water approx 8 x 25cl cups a day. Along with a decrease of your calorie intake this can help you lose weight to look defined. Obese This is where you will notice weight loss quickly initially but struggle to look defined for a good few months, there are no secrets to getting hard abs you need to exercise and eat correctly, drop your daily calorie intake by approx 250 - 500. this will allow you to lose weight with exercise. Cardio is strongly recommended instead of work purely on the abs. |
